MAXIM gives Full-time management students across the country an opportunity to bring out their creativity through Brand Warz- an ad making competition based on Guerrilla Marketing. Brand Warz in all its glory has the objective to acquaint the students about promotional strategies in marketing through advertisements along with testing their social media marketing acumen. It comprises of humorous & conceptual ad presentation by the students in a Video/Print Ad.

The participants get to unleash the creative genius in them. They usually need to form groups of maximum four-members to be eligible to take part in. In the preliminary round, Maxim floats a particular product for which the teams need to pick their own brand name, tagline, features and make an innovative Video/Print Ad for the brand. The first round of submissions gets posted on Facebook to fend for Fb-likes. On basis of the entry’s popularity on Facebook and Maxim’s criterion of judging, about 8 teams get selected for the final round. Here each team is provided with the submitted entry of another particular team and pitted against each other. After which the pairs of opponents are left to fight each other’s creativity in true guerrilla marketing style! In simpler words, they need to make a creative video-entry that can take down the theme of their opponent’s video.
However, keeping the ad simple, making it memorable and imbibing marketing techniques in it makes sure the ads get the teams advantage over each other and eventually earns prizes for them. Finally, Maxim in its sole discretion selects the winner of Brand Warz out of the best videos submitted in the final round, who then are awarded with certificates and the prize amount.
